In Downtown Toledo on Thursdays, Food Trucks line the street, and serve some pretty damn delicious food.

I stumbled upon Rusty’s Road Trip and boy, am I ever glad that I did.

He has a fantastic menu complete with Lake Erie Yellow Perch; which you can get in a sandwich or on its own. He also serves classics like Bacon Mac and Cheese, tomato soup, grilled cheese, and many other delicious things.

So let me tell you what I had the privilege of trying….

These Parmesan Mac and Cheese Balls that are served with marinara, are just RIGHT. ON. POINT.

You can get them either as Parmesan or Thai Style. 

If you prefer the latter, they come with melted peanut butter and sriracha!

I am not the biggest spicy food fan, so I stuck with the parmesan and they were OUTSTANDING!

 

Complete and utter Melt in your Mouth…

 

Next on the menu, I tried the Bacon Jalapeno Hushpuppies!

I have always been a fan of hushpuppies and being able to travel down south a few times, I make sure to ALWAYS get them. 

I have to say that they were the perfect snack and what sent them over the edge was the Spicy Chipotle Lime Dip that comes with them! It was so different and had a slight kick to it, but was so balanced out by the lime. 

Do yourself a favor and EAT THESE!

 

and lastly, for my entree I ordered the Bacon Mac and Cheese.

Let me just tell you a little about this cheesy goodness…it is one pound of mac and cheese made with smoked gouda.

DID YOU HEAR ME PEOPLE?!

SMOKED GOUDA.

Holy hell….amazing.

and also cheddar cheese and it is topped with bread crumbs and bacon, 

why you ask?

Well, duh because EVERYTHING is better with Bacon!

 

It was out of this world.

 

You really have to try Rusty’s Road Trip food and next time I go, I’m getting the Lake Erie Yellow Perch! 

I grew up eating perch and Rusty makes his with a homemade batter which is then deep fried in peanut oil and served with a homemade tartar sauce. Drooling yet? I am!
