I recently discovered Eventbrite and decided to join their Trends in Food & Drink project!
Eventbrite is a great platform that assists you in finding events in your area.
I used it to find this German American Festival that I recently attended.
They also have free event management tools to tell others about your event, you can even sell tickets, and track your event progress!
It happened to be a dark, rainy evening when I attended the event, so the photos are not the best, but I captured a lot of really cool things and amazing food, so enjoy!
Upon entering they have tents set up with cute apparel, accessories, etc that you can purchase!
To participate in the festival, they have a ticket system.
So, no cash allowed.
It really made me have to use my math skills, which are NOT that great, and figure out exactly how many tickets i would need for all the food I wanted to eat!
p.s. i may have miscounted and ended up with a few extra!
(I never said math was my forte!)
This was just a sample of the menu items available all around the festival.
I stumbled on this stand and the line was SO long that I figured I would at least HAVE to try Schnitzel!
30 minutes later and I got one!
For those of you who don’t know what it is, which was me, up until that night, here is the definition. Schnitzel is a boneless meat, thinned with a meat tenderizer, and then breaded and fried. The one I ate was veal, but they also can use beef, chicken, turkey, or reindeer.
I was impressed by the large amount of people that attended the event.
There were all sorts of yummy snacks too! Like these LandJager’s, pretzels, and Pommes Frites (French Fries)!
Look at all that sausage being cooked!
I have NO idea what this man had to eat, but I stopped him because I just HAD to take a picture of it!
Then I, of course, had to try a bratwurst….because I am half german!
and it’s not “German” without kraut!
My boys would LOVE the raccoons that they were selling!
They had a good deal of music too all over the festival!
In the back they performed these shows, complete with costumes and all!
Here is a video I took of the show:
There was a polka band playing too and lots of people were out on the dance floor having a grand ole time!
This older couple was by far my favorite!
I mean, how adorbable?!
It was a fantastic time complete with entertainment and great food.
It you ever get the opportunity, check out the German American Festival!
It was 50 years this year!
Thank you to Eventbrite for letting me know about this wonderful festival!
Yum

Suz, Yes I am familiar with Frankenmuth! I am originally from Michigan and grew up going there every Christmas! It is such a cute little town and one of my favorite traditions!
