In downtown Toledo on Thursday afternoons, the food trucks line up!
It was so exciting and I knew I had to go straight for Jo-Jo’s because their logo says, Famous Chili Dogs, ButterBurgers, + Wings…..and DUH! who doesn’t want that?!
I know I sure do! So, I went over and ordered a ton. The butterburger, fries, chicken sandwich, the famous chili dog (because let me tell you….i grew up on chili dogs and I am a HUGE critic of them.) I am very picky and do not like many sauces. My favorite sauce is still one from a tiny mom + pop restaurant who to this day only accepts cash.
My grandfather used to take me there when I was really little and I was too young to say “hot dog + fry”, so I just called it “veenie + fri).
Whenever I venture up to northern michigan, I make sure to ALWAYS stop there and stop up….and by now they even let me take containers of the sauce home 😉
Anyway, back to Jo-Jo’s and their FANTASTIC food!
I got in line to check it out because it was the longest line there and when you see that, you know that people know something you don’t.
Why? Because time is precious and waiting is not fun.
So….I got in line and proceeded to basically order half of the menu!
You can’t review it fully until you’ve tried many things, right?!
The Butter Burger was absolutely outstanding, i seriously could eat one everyday…..not sure how great that would be for my waistline, but it’s a serious thought.
Next up, the Grilled Chicken sandwich, for something on the lighter side….it was fantastic.
Great flavor and the accompaniment of french fries doesn’t hurt either!
Lastly, the famous chili dogs….like i said earlier, I have a hard time with chili dogs and do not like many.
For years I was a fan of Netty’s in Toledo, but within the last 2 years I’ve developed horrible heartburn from their chili dogs, so no more of those ones for me.
BUT this one….and I know the picture is terrible, BUT the deliciousness factor was top notch.
It was a really, really good one. The sauce not too rich or powerful and i love to add mustard to ANY chilil dog I have, so it was just perfection!
Me…..diving in and plain ol’ enjoying it!
Next time you see Jo-Jo’s Food Truck, make SURE you stop! It will be work it….i mean just look at the beauty of this Butter Burger!
and if you do, tell Tony that I sent you!
